Dr Bronwyn

Dr Bronwyn – Vet Manager

Bronwyn interest in the veterinary profession includes the human animal bond and is passionate about building good relationships with her clients and her patients, to ensure they are comfortable and informed at every step of the process. Bronwyn thrives on complicated medical cases and clinical pathology, loving the challenge and has undertaken postgraduate studies in emergency and critical care as well as diagnostic ultrasound.  

Outside of work she is passionate about the outdoors, travel, food and her family. She lives with her husband and 2 daughters on a small farm just outside of Albany with their 4 dogs, horses and cows. 

Dr Kirsten

Dr Kirsten – Vet

Kirsten graduated Uni in 1996 and did her masters in 2003. She has worked in 3 Aus states and also in the UK.  Kirsten loves being a part of the human-animal bond and working as a vet.

Dr Greg Kidd

Dr Greg Kidd

Greg graduated from Murdoch University’s fourth graduating class of 1982. Greg moved to Albany soon after graduation and has been based here ever since – owning his own practice for 26 years, whilst also working in the UK, all over Australia and has done voluntary work in India. Greg has recently been lured back from retirement to help out at LAVH.

Greg loves to mentor young vets and nurses and enjoys a surgical challenge now and then. He thrives in a team environment.

Hannah Holmberg, Vet Nurse

Hannah started working at Lockyer Avenue Veterinary Hospital in 2006 as a school student on work experience. We were so happy with her we offered her a job and she completed her veterinary nursing training via correspondence in Perth. She graduated with her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in  2009.

Hannah grew up in New Zealand and her husband Matt, grew up in Perth.  Both individuals moved to Albany with their families  in their teenage years. They love it here and don’t plan to move from the Great Southern.  

Hannah has 3 pets – Chilli the Border Collie ( pictured here) and her cats Bailey and Scribble.  

Hannah and her husband Matt have a beautiful family and are well supported by both sets of grandparents which enables Hannah to continue vet nursing . We are lucky to have her on our team.  

Sarah Carroll, Vet Nurse

Growing up in Kojonup Sarah started working at the local vets before she had even finished school. She underwent her training and graduated in Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2006. Sarah has also worked as a Dog Behavior Therapist and Trainer and currently runs our Puppy Pre School Classes. She is also the Dog Coordinator for local rescue group Albany Animal Welfare and runs the Dog Program at the Albany Regional Prison. Sarah, with her husband Jarrod have two sons Darcy and Hamish and two labradaughters Ruby and Bonnie and live on their cattle farm in Kalgan

Kaye Clark, Veterinary Nurse

Kaye joined the Lockyer Avenue Veterinary Hospital family as a fresh faced veterinary nurse in 2001.
Kaye has recently returned from Wickham in the Pilbara where her family relocated for her husband’s work. There Kaye enjoyed working for several years with the team at Karratha Vet Hospital.

Now with her husband and 2 boys, Kaye has relocated to their dream acreage near Mt Barker.
Kaye has two dogs – Tikka and Rubble and a menagerie of farm animals including three pet goats, chooks and a mob of sheep.

Kaye has enjoyed working back at LAVH and seeing long standing clients and their pets again.

Kiera Hurley, Vet Nurse Student

Kiera started her certificate 3 animal studies at Lockyer Avenue Vet Hospital in January 2021. Once finished her Certificate 3 she is determined to work towards completing her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing.

Kiera is excited to start her journey as a Veterinary Nurse at Lockyer Avenue Vet Hospital, she is eager to learn about the health of different species of animals and build her knowledge in all areas.

In her spare time she enjoys exercising along the beach with her 8yr old black Shmoodle Nina, catching up with friends for lunch, painting and cooking for her loved ones.

Kiera has adored animals from a young age. She enjoys nursing as it is very rewarding to be able to see improvements in an animal’s health and wellbeing, Kiera looks forward to her future in the industry.

 

Karlie Baesjou

 

Karlie Baesjou, Vet Nurse Student

Karlie has been with the team since 2020, where she has completed her cert 2 in animal studies and currently completing her cert 4 in veterinary nursing. Karlie should be a qualified nurse by the end of 2023. Since studying and working in the vet clinic, Karlie has loved every moment. She enjoys being able to put her new skills to work whilst also learning something new every day, and loves that she is able to assist in the treatment and recovery of animals.

Karlie has spent most her life growing up in the Great Southern. Living on her grandparent’s farm just out of Mt Barker. Her favourite subject during high school was farm and livestock. Growing up, Karlie has always had a caring and helpful nature and a strong love for animals. She finds she gets these characteristics from her Grandfather who was a farmer and her grandmother who was a nurse. Karlie now has her own house in Mt Barker with her partner Alex with their Moodle Archie and Tabby cat Jojo.
